On April 10, 2021, Shumka alumnist and Honorary Lifetime Member, Eldyka Simpson, presented the following awards on behalf of the awards committee as part of the 60th Anniversary Virtual Gala Celebration.

Spirit of Shumka Awards
To honour those who have not been Shumka dancers but have still been integral to Shumka's development and progress over time, the Spirit of Shumka Awards were established.
Membership with Distinction Awards
Members with Distinction are individuals whose contributions to Shumka have been considerable, while they were active dancing members and/or subsequent to their time in the studio. They have demonstrated ongoing support to one or more facets of the Shumka company, whether in administrative, artistic, dance school or other areas of contribution.
There are nearly 500 individuals who have had the privilege of being Shumka dancers in their lifetime, and a total of only 27 to date who have been honoured with a Membership with Distinction. As part of the 60th Anniversary celebrations, we have welcomed 9 more individuals to this esteemed group.
