Brenden Kuzma began his dance career in his hometown town of Prince George, British Columbia. He moved to Alberta in 2011 to pursue his dream of dancing with Edmonton’s Ukrainian Shumka Dancers.

Dancing with the company from 2011 to 2019, Brenden was involved in many different areas of the company including the dancer executive as props director, the artistic committee, and the board of directors.

Select highlights from Brenden’s career with Shumka include being part of productions such as Shumka at 50 (tour across Canada), Shumka’s Nutcracker, and Kobzar.

During his time as a dance instructor, Brenden has been the instructor for the Athabasca Ukrainian Folk Dance Club (Athabasca), the Glendon Shevchenko Ukrainian Dance Club (Glendon), the Thorhild Ukrainian Dance Club (Thorhild), and the Shumka School of Dance (Edmonton).

Brenden has been instructing with Studia Shumka since its inception. He has a passion for dance training and helping push Studia dancers to reach new heights on their dance journeys.
