They/Them

Lauren Dzenick started dancing at three years old at Dance Unlimited, where they trained in many different styles. They danced competitively for 15 years, and spent the summer of 2019 training with the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City and Las Vegas. They were trained by industry professionals in ballet, musical theatre, jazz, and contemporary.

When they were growing up, Lauren attended every Shumka show and gala that hit the Jubilee stage. They watched with aspirations to one day dance in the company. With both parents being alumni members, and their sister Elyse being a current member, their whole family has now been part of the Shumka legacy.

Lauren is in their first year at the University of Alberta pursuing a degree in secondary education, as well as teaching ballet, jazz and lyrical at Dance Unlimited.
