He/Him
Joshua Pacholok has been dancing in Shumka since 2019. At the age of 6, he enrolled in grade 1 at the Shumka School of Dance. He continued to dance for 5 years until leaving to pursue other interests. At age 13, after watching his brother and cousins perform on stage with Shumka, he rediscovered his passion for Ukrainian dance. “With great help from Shumka School Principal Peter Eeles, I was once again enrolled in the Shumka School of Dance Intensive Division. From there, I continued my dance training, studying not only Ukrainian dance, but also ballet and contemporary.” With the 60th Anniversary, Joshua feels Shumka has deep, long-running and important roots in our community, and is excited to not only celebrate Shumka’s past, but also its future and the evolving art form of Ukrainian dance. He is one of the Coordinators for the 2020 Shumka Summer Dance Camps and teaches throughout the year at the Shumka School.
