Mark Rachmistruk began his dance journey at the age of five at Dance Unlimited. He then joined the Shumka School of Dance, where he developed his passion for Ukrainian dance and performance. After graduating from the Shumka School program, Mark spent a year with Studia Shumka before becoming a member of the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers in 2023. As a third-generation Shumka dancer, he proudly follows in the footsteps of his mother and grandmother, carrying forward a cherished family legacy.

Since joining Shumka, Mark has performed in major productions including Shumka’s Nutcracker, UKRAINKA, and he had the honour of touring the United States with the National Ballet of Ukraine’s Nadiya (Hope) Ukraine tour. His dedication to the art form reflects his deep cultural roots and commitment to sharing the beauty of Ukrainian dance with audiences around the world.

When not dancing, Mark is a student at the University of Alberta hoping to one day become a lawyer and spends his free time watching sports.
