Breanna Senko

She/Her

Breanna Senko began her dance journey at the age of three, training in jazz, ballet, contemporary, and Ukrainian dance at local studios in Westlock and Thorhild. Over time, her passion for Ukrainian dance deepened, inspiring her to explore her cultural roots more fully. At the age of 11 she decided to move to Shumka School of Dance where she fell in love with the Shumka community and its mission to showcase Ukrainian culture. During her years at SSD, she took part in Shumka shows such as Ancestors & Elders and enjoyed attending Shumka Summer Camps.

After graduating from the SSD program in 2022 she successfully auditioned for Shumka and has since been able to take part in productions such as Mosquitoes Wedding, Shumka’s Nutcracker, and UKRAINKA. A highlight of her career thus far was touring the United States with the National Opera of Ukraine which is an experience she regards with deep gratitude and pride.

Currently, Breanna is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta, with aspirations of entering medical school in the near future. Outside the studio, she enjoys spending time with her three younger brothers—who also share her passion for dance—and cherishes the close friendships she’s built within the Shumka family.
