Emily began Ukrainian dancing at the age of 3 in her hometown of St. Paul, Alberta. Growing up, each of her instructors were Shumka alum, and their passion and guidance inspired her to be a part of the company one day. Emily spent 2 years in Studia Shumka gaining experience in the Shumka style before becoming an apprentice Shumka member in the summer of 2022. Highlights of her Shumka career so far have been performing Nutcracker to live orchestra in Victoria and being a part of the creation and premiere of UKRAINKA. In addition to Ukrainian dance, Emily was also a competitive Scottish Highland dancer for 9 years and had the opportunity to travel across Canada for national championships.

Outside of dance, Emily works as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
