Victor Lirette has been involved in Shumka since his oldest daughter joined the dance company.
“All three of my daughters were Ukrainian dancers, and even though they went through other dance groups, Shumka was always the end goal. I helped out with a few things, but I was asked if I would sit on Shumka’s Board. I started out on it during a time of transition, so it was a bit hectic at times. There was a lot of change that happened in a short amount of time, but it ultimately led to where Shumka is today.
I continue to support Shumka because the company has given a lot to the arts and the greater community. Shumka has also given so much to me and my family personally. The 60th anniversary is one of those events that’s a benchmark for corporations and organizations that have thrived for that long. Shumka’s 60th anniversary celebrates the hard work of every past generation of the company.”
Victor has committed his time on the Board of Directors for four years and has made several contributions to the structure of the company. Thank you, Victor.
