Support from the Ukrainian community has been a huge part of our success over the last 60 years. Avid supporters and generous donors Dr. Roman and Marusia Petryshyn continue to be pillars in Edmonton’s Ukrainian community. Roman served as the founding director for MacEwan University’s Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre while sitting on Shumka’s Board of Directors, while Marusia remains an influential advocate for Ukrainian bilingual education in Canada.
