“I joined Shumka for two reasons: the opportunity to contribute to the organization and art of dance, but also the opportunity to bring joy to audiences.”
Kim danced in Shumka for 3 years, but most of her time was devoted to giving back to the community through dance. She taught Ukrainian dance until 2016.
Kim has continued to support Shumka by sitting on the board of the Alumni Association, trying to find ways to bring the community together, alumni, current dancers, family, and future dancers alike. In her time with Shumka and the School, Kim learned a lot that transferred over into her professional life.
Kim was also involved with the opening of the Shumka Stage. It was opened as a place for every generation of Shumka to gather, and in 2014, the family picnic at the stage did exactly that.
Thank you, Kim.
