Nicolas began dancing at the Shumka School of Dance at the age of 6, and at 15 he was thrilled to become a member of the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers. He is currently in his fourth year with the company, and in that time has been honoured to be part of many exciting performances in Edmonton and across the country. In addition to being a dancer in the company, Nic has served as a member of the props and studio maintenance committees, as an LIT for Shumka Summer Dance Camps, and, most recently, as a member of the Shumka Board of Directors. For Nic, the 60th Anniversary tour presents an opportunity to continue to challenge himself as a dancer, and he is excited to share his love of dance with audiences across the country. A student of mathematical physics at the University of Alberta, Nic enjoys the great outdoors and spending time with his friends and family.
